Mobile Moments, and a Happy Blogiversary to Me

Today's the day: the one year anniversary of when I first began. Who'da thunk, eh? I haven't racked up too many followers in that time, but I suppose kind of like it that way; it gives me sense of safety and privacy in an all-too-public blogosphere. Besides that, I've done what I set out to do, which was to create an outlet for myself to write, write, write, and to give myself a reason to keep on shooting relentless numbers of pictures, even if I'm not seeing much progress in my attempts at mastering photography just yet (after all, who knows when I'll ever have the time).

Beyond that, I've found one less thing to feel guilty about, which for a very long time included my inability to keep up a baby book. I still haven't managed that- I'm quite sure I never will- but now I don't suppose that I need to.

Through it all, it's been nice to know that though my followers may be few, many are nothing if not loyal. If I ever have a doubt, it's put to rest by the gently probing phone calls that I receive whenever I miss a day of posting. My great thanks to all of you for sticking with me this long, and for giving me motivation to continue, even when I could not find it within myself.

Now, without further ado, we return to our regularly scheduled programming: Mobile Moments 6/3-6/9.

Trying out in-camera effects on Mia.

Such a lovely profile, but whose nose is that, exactly?

Abby shows off some new-found dexterity.

Michael goes for a ride on his fire truck.

Abby builds a tower almost as tall as herself.

Mia rocks her cowprint legwarmers.

Overheard this Week:

As she reaches the foot of the basement stairs, Abby happens upon a new bottle of shampoo. Picking it up, she observes, "It's shampoo. It's for Daddy's hair when he takes his clothes off. Daddy's gonna take a shower and he's gonna get naked."

While lying next to me on the sofa, Mia coughs. Abby, who is standing nearby, says to her, "Bless you Amelia. Cover your mouth when you cough." She demonstrates coughing into her inner elbow. "Like this."

Abby (setting Elmo down on Africa the Elephant): "Elmo's lying on the bench. He needs a binky."
Tom (with great interest): "What did you say, Abby?"
Abby (grinning proudly): "Blog post for the day!"

(That last one was from today. So far as blog fodder goes, that's some pretty meaty stuff on this, my blogiversary, amiright?)

  1. Happy bloggiversary! Glad you have an outlet for writing, and that you share it with us.

  2. Happy bloggiversary!! I love your pictures. Please continue doing so--your kids are beautiful. :)

  3. We're not personally acquainted, but I'm an avid reader.
    Happy blogiversary!

  4. Thanks again- all of you. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I especially love your comments. Here's to more anniversaries to come.
