The Wheels on the Bus Go...

Abby has become quite the talented songwriter. She was so prolific today that I finally got serious about jotting down her antics as they occurred, for fear that I would forget the specifics. And I did, so it's a good thing I had those emails to myself waiting, unread, for me to look back on this evening.

It all started at breakfast this morning, as she finished up with Tom while Michael and I waited for her to join us in the basement. To the tune of Elmo's Song, she began, "La LA la, la LA la, I want some more oatmeal..." which then morphed into some kind of mash-up with Lenka's The Show; "... la LA la, I want my money back, I want my Michael back, just enjoy the show."

But that was not all that she had in store. She was at it again at lunchtime, as she munched on her grilled cheese sandwich. "The wheels on the bus go yum, yum, yum. The milk on the bus go drink, drink, drink."

Dinnertime brought with it a special treat- a visit from Auntie Lisa. She requested a performance of Rihanna's Umbrella, of which she had read quite a bit on the blog, but had not yet had the pleasure of hearing in person. Abby gladly complied, "Ella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh..." and then launched into a reprise of her lunchtime serenade.

"The grilled cheese on the bus goes yum, yum, yum. The milk on the bus goes drink, drink, drink!"

Caught up in the moment, Lisa asked, "What does the Lisa on the bus do?"

To encourage Abby, we all began to sing, "The Lisa on the bus goes..." Abby looked a bit confused, and said, "Broof!"

I guess she'll have to work a bit on her impromptu lyric-generating skills.

Until then, we shall have to wait and see what Abby comes up with for dear Auntie Lisa, as she rides that crazy bus all through the town...
